Remarkably, this year, the
Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students is stringing up an event that would
not only whet the appetite of its teeming students, but provide a platform for
its associates and other parents to drink from the oasis of what the Brothers
and Sisters Conference provides.
Family is important, not just for me
but for the whole world. Ever ran into a fellow who has no ties with a bunch of
dead guys we call ancestors? I didn’t think so. Everyone comes from a family;
Osama Bin Laden, Benjamin Franklin, Wole Soyinka, Obafemi Awolowo, Martin
Luther, Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Mutallab, Napoleon, Socrates. They’ve shaped our
philosophy and ideology one way or the other, but they were little impressionable
kids like we once were. Whether we admit it or not, we’re glad that most of
them are what they are—not in the Guinness list of terrorists. Catching my
drift? If we lose the battle here, it is almost hopeless to salvage a society
engulfed in spiritual and moral decay.
So there you have it. Parents
have set their hands on the plough, and our associates represent a larger
percentage of the unmarried (good news!). The Conference is—generally or
particularly—designed to inspire awareness and response to the actors within
the purview of family life.
“A home with a loving and loyal
husband and wife, declares David A. Bednar, is the supreme setting in which the
children can be reared in love and righteousness and in which the spiritual and
physical needs of the children can be met”.
We look forward to seeing you
our dear parents and associates!
Venue: College of Health
Technology, Zawan, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
